Tierney reaches rebound mark, Lehigh beats Army

Bethlehem, PA – Senior Anne Tierney became the Patriot League’s all-time leading rebounder, as she grabbed her 1,012th rebound of her career en route to recording her 50 th career double-double in leading Lehigh to a 64-59 win over Army. Lehigh improves its record to 7-10, 4-1 in the Patriot League, while Army falls to 9-10, 1-4 in league play. Tierney led Lehigh with 12 points in the first half, as the Mountain Hawks led by as many as 13 and took a 33-26 lead into the locker room at halftime, after shooting 54% from the field. The senior finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds and received help from freshman point guard Dawn Gorynski, who added 10 points and dished out two assists in the winning effort. Senior Cat Nicholson added a season-best four three-pointers, and pulled down a career high nine boards for the Mountain Hawks. Army was led by Katie Macfarlane with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Lehigh returns to action on Friday, January 31, when the Mountain Hawks travel to Worcester, Mass. to take on Holy Cross. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m. Top Performers
