Lehigh wins fifth home game, Logie sets mark

Bethlehem, PA – Matt Logie broke Lehigh's all-time three point field goals made record of 226 by going 5-for-5 from three point land Saturday as Lehigh defeated St. Francis (NY) 74-68. The win pushes the Mountain Hawks record to 7-5, while St. Francis falls to 3-6. The victory is also the first ever for Lehigh against St. Francis.
     

The Mountain Hawks led the Terriers by 14 points at halftime. In the first half Matt Crawford led all scorers with nine points. Crawford went 4-of-4 from the floor and 1-of-2 from the free throw line. The senior from Vero Beach, Florida also tallied three blocks. As a team Lehigh shot 60% on 14-of-23 shooting. Bronski Dockery tallied seven points to lead St. Francis. The Terriers went 9-of-30 from the floor in the first stanza for a 30% shooting mark.
     

In the second half Lehigh led by as many as 17 points; however, St. Francis pulled within three points with 5:00 minutes remaining. Lehigh managed to close the door; however, and pick up the win. Logie finished the game 5-of-5 from three point land and 6-of-9 from the floor for a team high 18 points. Crawford and fellow captain Zlatko Savovic also finished the game in double figures. Savovic netted 15 points on a 3-of-7 shooting performance and led the Mountain Hawks with six assists, while Crawford managed 11 points and nine rebounds.
     

Dockery finished the game as the high scorer, netting 21 points, while teammate Chris Sockwell posted a double-double. Sockwell tallied 18 points and 11 rebounds in the Terrier loss. Cliff Strong also notched a double-double as he posted 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Lehigh returns to action on Wednesday to face Haverford at 7:00 p.m. It will be the Mountain Hawks final non-league contest. Lehigh opens league play on January 11th at Navy.
