Logie scores season high, Lehigh falls

Miami, FL – Lehigh fell to Miami 68-62 Monday evening, dropping its record to 6-4 on the season. With the win Miami improves to 6-4.
     

The Mountain Hawks trailed 37-35 at halftime. Trailing 25-24, Miami went on a 13-0 run, holding Lehigh scoreless over a 3:17 span. The Mountain Hawks answered back, posting a 14-0 run of their own. Matt Logie managed 13 first half points, going 5-of-7 from the floor and 1-of-2 from three-point land. Matt Crawford tallied eight first half points, including two rim rocking dunks.
     

For Miami, three-point land was a safe haven. The ‘Canes were red hot, shooting 7-10 from outside the arch. Darius Rice and James Jones managed 15 and 10 points respectively, while Armondo Surratt posted seven first half points.
     

The second half was a see-saw affair that saw both Lehigh and Miami exchange the lead several times. Logie again paced the Mountain Hawks, posting 11 second half points. On the night the senior from Mercer Island, Washington moved into tenth place on Lehigh’s all-time scoring list, posting 24 points for the game. Crawford wound up with 12 points on a 5-of-7 shooting performance, while Zlatko Savovic netted 11 points, going 4-of-10 from the field. Nick Monserez led in rebounds with five and Ra Tiah paced Lehigh with five assists.
     

For Miami, the three-point shot was their best friend. As a team, the Hurricanes managed a 9-of-16 performance from outside the arch, including a 4-of-5 output from Jones. Jones ended the game with 21 points, while Rice went 3-of-5 from downtown, finishing with 18 points.
     

Lehigh shot 48% as a team, going 22-of-46 from the floor, while Miami shot 48% on a 21-of-44 performance.
     

The Mountain Hawks return to action on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. vs. Wagner. The action can be heard live on the Lehigh website as well as AM 1470, WKAP. Matt Kerr will have call the play-by-play beginning with the pre game show at 6:45.
