Balanced effort leads to Mountain Hawk win

Bethlehem, Pa - The Mountain Hawks spread the ball around Thursday night, and it helped them take their first taste of victory in their new home. Five Lehigh players had between 8 and 13 kills to do most of the damage against the visiting Colgate Raiders (5-20, 2-8) as Lehigh (15-11, 6-4) won 3-2. Freshman Michelle Schwendenmann continued her hot play of late, striking 13 kills on the night to go with 9 digs. Schwendenmann was named Patriot League Freshman of the Week earlier this week. Senior Jeannette Singleton moved closer to second place all time in kills at Lehigh, going for 10 kills on the night with 18 digs. She now needs just 20 kills to take over second. Allison Jack had 44 assists to go along with 15 digs, and Jill Kober had 19 digs defensively on the night. Laurel Oliver led the way for Colgate with 15 kills, and libero Natalie Rawson had an impressive 31 digs in the four games. Head coach The Mountain Hawks, with three of the top four blockers in the Patriot League, were no different on Thursday totalling 12 blocks on the evening. Lehigh returns to the court Saturday night as they welcome Patriot League rival Bucknell for their final home contest of the season. Game time is set for
