Mountain Hawks fall at Bucknell
10/14/2003 12:00:00 AM | Volleyball
Lehigh struggled early and often, dropping the first two games 30-23 and 30-19. In the third, the Mountain Hawks came out strong to take a 10-3 lead, but the Bison attack came back after a timeout to reclaim the lead at 17-16, then didn’t look back to take the deciding game 30-25. Lehigh moves to 9-8 on the season, and 1-2 in the Patriot League. Head coach Freshman Michelle Schwendenmann reached double digits in kills for the fourth straight match, pacing the team with 12 on the night. She was the only Lehigh player to reach double figures on the night. Jeanette Singleton had 9 kills, and led the team with 10 digs defensively. Jackie Leahy led Bucknell (7-8, 3-0) with 15 kills. It was a tough loss for the Mountain Hawks, but they will not have any time to think about it as they travel to Colgate to take on the Red Raiders Saturday night.
