Rackley was the first freshman to start on the offensive line under head coach Andy Coen, and Rackley never relinquished that starting position, playing every game of his 4-year career. That resiliency made him one of the most decorated offensive linemen in the history of the Patriot League and a third-round NFL draft pick.
His career at Lehigh, culminating in a spectacular 2010 season. The team was 10-3, won the Patriot League, and advanced to the NCAA second round. Ranked #14 in the final 2010 FCS Coaches Poll, Lehigh’s offensive line, anchored by Rackley, only allowed 14 sacks in 13 games.
Rackley was twice honored as an All-American – the first offensive lineman in league history to earn consecutive recognition. He was a three-time All Patriot League First Team selection and recognized as a selection on the 25th Anniversary Patriot League Team.Â
He was selected 76th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars – the 2nd highest-selected FCS player in his draft class. While his NFL career was cut short by injuries, he played in the league for four years and made an impact. As a rookie, his offensive line cleared the way for the Jaguars to lead the NFL in rushing yards. He retired at age 24 after suffering three concussions in nine months.
In typical Lehigh fashion, Rackley pivoted into a thriving career, achieving success in several areas. As an artist and entrepreneur, Rackley founded Div1sion Won Art, where he paints portraits – large-scale, acrylic works based in Renaissance techniques – of family, historical and cultural figures, and commissioned work.
He also illustrated a children’s book with fellow football alumnus and long-time mentor, Mike Walsh ’90.
He also is a noted success in technology. Leveraging his degree in product design from Lehigh University and a project management certification through a Microsoft/NFL partnership, Rackley transitioned into the global corporate sector. He has been featured in major newspapers for his second career success.
Today, he is a business operations analyst at Atrium, a global talent solutions and extended workforce management company, and enjoys time with his wife Briana and their 8-year old son, Elijah.
