One of Lehigh's best wrestlers of all time, Kirk Pendleton was an NCAA wrestling champion at 157 pounds in 
1963. Pendleton’s championship came after he finished second at Nationals each of the two previous seasons. A three-time All-American, he is still the holder of Lehigh’s all-time best dual meet record of 35-0-0, which was accomplished from 1960 through 1963.
Pendleton was also a three-time EIWA champion and was named the meet's Most Outstanding Wrestler twice. He was the recipient of the Fletcher Memorial Trophy (given to the wrestler with the most points in his career), and held a career winning percentage of .969, a mark that is second only to Mike Caruso. Pendleton was 64-2 with his only two losses coming in NCAA tournament title bouts.
Pendleton's dedication to Lehigh was further exemplified by his position on the Lehigh Board of Trustees, which he held for 23 years. He also served as president of Cairnwood Inc.
