HISTORY
Home to Lehigh Football for over seven decades, Taylor Stadium stood on Lehigh's Asa Packer Campus at the corner of Taylor Street and Packer Avenue, on what is now the site of Rauch Business Center and Zoellner Arts Center. A monument marking the location of the historic venue is located adjacent to the sidewalk behind Rauch Business Center. An official marker from the state of Pennsylvania also sits on the site honoring the history of the Lehigh-Lafayette football rivalry.

Taylor Stadium was constructed in 1914 on the site of the University's former athletic fields, and at the time was just the third concrete stadium in the United States. After an upper grandstand was donated by Bethlehem Steel in later years. The stadium had a capacity of 20,000 at its peak and would serve as the home for many of Lehigh's athletic teams, including football, baseball, lacrosse and soccer.

After Lehigh constructed new fields on the other side of South Mountain on what is today the Goodman Campus, the teams that called Taylor Stadium home began to move. The final game at Taylor Stadium was the 123rd meeting of The Rivalry against Lafayette on November 21, 1987. Lehigh defeated the Leopards 17-10 on a frigid day where the temperature was in the mid-20s and the wind chill factor was somewhere between minus-10 and minus-20 degrees.

The following season, Lehigh Football moved into the brand new Goodman Stadium over on the Goodman Campus.
