BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's lacrosse team will continue to jostle for Patriot League Tournament position as the Mountain Hawks will take on Navy Wednesday evening in Lehigh's final regular season home game. Opening draw is set for 7 p.m. The Midshipmen stand second in the league at 4-1, while the Mountain Hawks are in sixth and fighting to move up the standings.

Wednesday's game is part of Lehigh's Summit Series. Tickets are only five dollars for the general public and can be purchased in advance at LehighTickets.com. Students, faculty and staff are admitted free with their Lehigh ID. The Goodman Bus Service will run at 6:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. and will leave from the Dialogue Center on Taylor Street (between Taylor Street and Grace Hall).

Lehigh is looking to advance to its second straight league tournament as the Mountain Hawks still have three of their eight league games remaining, beginning Wednesday night. Lehigh is coming off an 8-5 Senior Day loss to Boston University on Sunday. The Terriers scored six of the game's last eight goals and slowed down the Mountain Hawk attack. Senior Carli Sukonik scored a goal on her Senior Day while freshman Kierstyn Voiro and junior Kendall Garden each scored two goals as well against BU.

Sukonik is up to a team-leading 33 goals while sophomore Allison LaBeau leads the team in points. She has contributed 27 goals and 11 assists this season. That attacking duo has led the way while senior All-League defender Lauren Willcox has anchored the defensive unit. Willcox tallied two groundballs and two caused turnovers against the Terriers Saturday and is up to 21 caused turnovers for the season, second on the team to Garden (25).

Navy has been very strong this season, with its only Patriot League loss coming against Colgate. Two of the Mids' three losses have come versus nationally-ranked foes in Duke and Virginia. Navy lost to Virginia in its last game by the score of 15-13, its second straight loss. The Mountain Hawks must locate and defend senior attacker Loren Generi, who's been prolific throughout her career at Navy and is responsible for 38 goals and 22 assists this season. Junior attacker Katie Gallagher has contributed 43 points on 28 goals and 15 assists for the Midshipmen. Defensively, Navy boasts 2013 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in goalkeeper Annie Foky, who has a save percentage of .413 and a goals against average of 7.07.

Lehigh dropped a difficult 9-8 overtime final at Navy last season. Lehigh was unable to possess the ball during the overtime period, as the Midshipmen won both draw controls of the extra session and scored as time expired. Navy now owns a 6-4 lead in the all-time series. The Mountain Hawks won four of the first six meetings, but Navy has responded with four straight victories.

After Wednesday's game, the Mountain Hawks will finish up their regular season schedule with games at American on Sunday (April 12) and at Holy Cross next Friday (April 17).
