GETTING TO KNOW LUCAS
Nickname: Luke
Why did you choose Lehigh? Parents grew up in the area, dad attended here for grad school, grandparents worked on campus, many family members worked at the steel mill, parents got married on campus
What’s your favorite thing about Lehigh? Being in the Lehigh Valley and near family
Major & Why: Chemical Engineering; to get into Nuclear Engineering so that I can be on the cutting edge of carbon free emissions energy
Most admired person and why: Dane Miller, my trainer back home. Within a span of four months he turned me into a 47’ shot putter with the college weight (16 lbs). He has also acted as a great resource for everything training and lifting as well as just being one of the most influential people in my life. If it were not for him and everything he did for me, I would not be at Lehigh, I would not be a shot putter (which at this point is the nexus of my life), and my life would just be entirely different from what it is now.
