BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's basketball celebrated its 2017-18 season with the team's annual "Zell" Awards Banquet on Sunday at the Asa Packer Dining Room in the University Center. The banquet commemorated the team's accomplishments during a season capped off by an eight-game winning streak spanning the end of January and entire month of February to earn the program's fourth consecutive home game in the Patriot League Quarterfinals.

Senior Kahron Ross won the team's Athlete of the Year award for the first time in his career after posting a career-high 13.2 points per game to go along with 4.3 assists per game, tied for fourth in the league. Ross was named to an All-League team for the fourth time in his career, the first to do so in Lehigh history, as he garnered second-team All-Patriot League honors. Ross became the 35th player in school history to score 1,000 career points and finished the season as the Patriot League and school's all-time leader in career assists with 660.
Freshman Marques Wilson won the Coaches Award, which is given to the student-athlete with significant contributions to the well-being of the team in the areas of attitude, improvement or special leadership. After not playing many minutes in the beginning of the season, Wilson came on strong in Patriot League as he solidified a spot in the starting lineup and became a reliable offensive and defensive option for the Mountain Hawks.  In league play, Wilson had three games with 19 points or more including a 28-point, 9-of-10 shooting effort in a Feb. 14 win at Colgate.

For the second straight year, sophomore Jordan Cohen won the Scholar-Athlete Award following another impressive year in the classroom and on the court. Cohen currently owns a 3.67 GPA as a finance major, earning a spot on the Dean's List this fall and garnering Academic All-Patriot League recognition. On the court, Cohen played in 29 games, adding eight starts and averaging 9.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. His biggest performance came in Lehigh's biggest win of the year over rival Bucknell in front of a nationally-televised audience on Feb 5. Cohen tallied a career-high 21 points to go along with four assists in the overtime victory.

The final award was the Sixth Man Award, presented to Character Coach Billy Dunn for his dedication to the program.

The Mountain Hawks finished the 2017-18 season with a 16-14 overall record, including 11-7 in Patriot League play. Lehigh ended the regular season on an eight-game winning streak, going 7-0 in February to improve to 22-2 over the last three Februaries. In the end, the Mountain Hawks earned a Patriot League Quarterfinal home game for the eighth time in the last nine years. Lehigh features seven players with 20-point games this season and will return six of those players next year.
