BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After scoring double-figure points for a third and fourth straight game last week, Lehigh men's basketball freshman Marques Wilson has been named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced on Monday. Wilson averaged 13.5 points per game while contributing in several other ways as well, helping the Mountain Hawks extend their winning streak to eight straight games heading into the Patriot League Quarterfinals on Thursday.

The Rookie of the Week award is Lehigh's first of the season and third weekly award overall; senior Kahron Ross has also garnered Player of the Week twice in 2017-18.

Wilson began the week with 15 points, five rebounds and three assists at Loyola Wednesday. He served as a key first-half spark, scoring 10 first-half points to help Lehigh take a 38-35 halftime advantage, on the way to the 80-74 win. Wilson went on to tally 12 points, a career-high nine rebounds, four assists and two steals in Saturday's win over Lafayette.

The Edmond, Oklahoma native shot 11-of-19 for the week, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. Wilson has knocked down 10 of his last 13 three-pointers and 13 of his last 21. He turned the ball over just once in 63 minutes of action last week. For the season, Wilson is averaging 5.6 points and 2.6 rebounds, including 8.4 points and 3.6 boards in Patriot League play.
