HELLERTOWN, Pa. – Less than a week after winning Villanova's Wildcat Invitational, the Lehigh men's golf team opened Lafayette's Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational with a score of 313 Sunday at Silver Creek Country Club. The score was good enough to earn Lehigh a tie for 12th place in the 19-team field.

The Mountain Hawks are tied with Manhattan for 12th place. Four teams broke 300 on Sunday with UConn shooting 295 to lead the way. Fordham is one stroke behind the Huskies while Bryant and Hofstra are tied for third at 298.

Sophomore Johnny Hsu and junior Billy Johns posted the low rounds among Lehigh's scoring players with five over par 77s to tie for 38th place. Johns carded four birdies in his round but had two double bogeys and a triple, while Hsu made a pair of birdies in his round.

Freshman Owen Quinn shot 79 and is tied for 54th place, while freshman Ryan Kelly and sophomore Lee Hammerschmidt both shot 80 and are tied for 65th place. Hammerschmidt matched Johns with four birdies in his round.

Lehigh's lowest round of the day was posted by sophomore Eamon Marone, who is competing as an individual. Marone shot four over par 76 and is tied for 27th place. His round was highlighted by back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16.

Freshman Chris Pollan is also competing as an individual and is tied for 46th place following a round of 78.

Colgate's Alejandro Soto holds the individual lead following a round of three under par 69 to lead Wagner's Anton Frendelius by one stroke.
