Telesco, Weber and Eidenshink named to roster for North-South All-Star Game Friday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following outstanding collegiate careers, Lehigh senior co-captains Casey Eidenshink, Tripp Telesco and Reid Weber have been named to the South roster for the 75th annual USILA/Nike Division I-II North-South Game, as announced this week. The trio becomes Lehigh's 12th, 13th and 14th participants over the last six years named to the prestigious senior All-Star Game. The game will be played this Friday (May 27) at 5:30 p.m. at Cabrini College in Radnor, Pa.
 
Last season, goaltender Matt Poillon played in the game while Ty Souders participated in 2014. David DiMaria, Dante Fantoni, Mike Noone and Ryan Snyder played in 2013, Adam Johnston, Cameron Lao-Gosney and Roman Lao-Gosney participated in 2012 while current Lehigh assistant coach Will Scudder and Jonathan Stumpf played in 2011.
 
Lehigh and Army West Point are the only teams in the Patriot League with players named to the rosters, each with three. Austin Schultz, Jimbo Moore and Alex Daly of Army West Point will suit up for the North team.
 
Telesco and Weber are both coming off first team All-Patriot League seasons as seniors. Telesco earned first team laurels for the second time in his career, posting 44 groundballs and 30 caused turnovers (both second on the Mountain Hawks). The 30 caused turnovers are tied for ninth in the nation. Telesco corralled a season-high five groundballs in the regular season at Army West Point while twice causing four turnovers, including in the Patriot League Quarterfinals against the Black Knights. He also had three groundballs and three caused turnovers in a big win at No. 20 Boston University. Telesco ended his career with 138 groundballs and 97 caused turnovers.
 
Weber was named a unanimous first team All-League selection, emerging as the leader of the Lehigh attack. He finished the season with a team-leading 37 goals and 51 points. Weber posted nine hat tricks as a senior to up his career total to 19. He tied a career-high six points on two occasions, at Furman (four goals, two assists) and vs. Cornell (five goals, one assist) when he eclipsed 100 career goals. Weber played his best against Patriot League opponents, including three straight hat tricks against league foes: vs. Colgate, at Army West Point and at Lafayette. He also posted 22 groundballs and six caused turnovers. Weber finished his career with 104 goals and 45 assists.
 
A second team All-League honoree as a junior, Eidenshink was named Academic All-Patriot League each of the last two seasons. He enjoyed a strong senior season as well, recording 32 groundballs and nine caused turnovers as an anchor of the Lehigh defense. One of his biggest games came at No. 3 Duke (five groundballs, three caused turnovers) while he also tallied four groundballs in consecutive contests: vs. Colgate and at Amy West Point. He finished his career by recording multiple groundballs in five of his last six games. He finished his career with 115 groundballs and 49 caused turnovers.
 
The Mountain Hawks finished the 2016 season with a 6-9 record and 4-4 mark in the Patriot League, earning the No. 5 seed and advancing to the program's sixth straight Patriot League Tournament. The season saw three seniors earn All-League honors, while the senior class set the table for an impressive core of youngsters. Among the underclass standouts were freshman long-stick midfielder Craig Chick, who currently leads the nation with 37 caused turnovers, and freshman attackman Tristan Rai, who finished the year second on the Mountain Hawks in goals (31) and points (41).
