BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's basketball team looked back at the 2015-16 season at its annual "Zell" Awards Banquet on Sunday, Apr. 10 at the University Center. Both coaches and student-athletes reflected on this past season, which featured a school-record 11-game winning streak and run to the Patriot League Championship Game. In addition to a highlight reel chronicling the season, team awards were presented to several student-athletes for their basketball and academic prowess.

For the second straight season, junior center Tim Kempton won the Athlete of the Year award for his stellar performance on the hardwood. Kempton captured his second straight Patriot League Player of the Year award in addition to Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America and NABC First Team All-District recognition. The Scottsdale, Arizona native averaged 17.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in 2015-16. Over his last 10 games, Kempton averaged 18.8 points and 12.4 rebounds, which included consecutive games at Army West Point and vs. Navy in the Patriot League Quarterfinals when he posted a combined 45 points and 35 rebounds. Kempton was named the league's Player of the Week in two of the final three weeks of the regular season.

Sophomore point guard Kahron Ross took home the Coaches Award, which is given to the student-athlete with significant contributions to the well-being of the team in areas of attitude, improvement or special leadership. The reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Year, Ross was named a first team All-Patriot League selection in 2015-16. The Jonesboro, Arkansas native averaged 11.2 points, 6.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game. His 6.1 assists per contest ranked him 23rd in the nation. Ross helped spark Lehigh's 11-game winning streak, which twice included a career-high 24 points, and averaged 17.6 points per game over his final seven regular season contests. He shot 65 percent from three-point range (13-of-20) over those last seven regular season games.

Senior forward John Ross Glover was honored with the Scholar-Athlete Award for his impressive academic performance. The Hendersonville, Tennessee product and English major posted a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA in the fall semester. Glover currently owns an impressive 3.55 cumulative GPA. On the floor, Glover's highlight game came in a 76-73 win against Mount St. Mary's when he tallied 11 points (all in the second half) and eight rebounds.

Lehigh Executive Director of Student Auxiliary Services David Joseph and Vice Provost for Student Affairs John Smeaton were presented with the team's Sixth Man Award. Their generous support of the program helped lead to a raucous student crowd throughout the Patriot League Tournament, along with a tournament record attendance of 4,587 fans for the championship game.

Lehigh finished the season with a 17-15 record and 13-5 league record, making it all the way to the Patriot League Championship Game. The 13 league victories marked a school record. Lehigh played five NCAA Tournament teams in its nonleague schedule, including Syracuse, Virginia, Purdue, Yale and Stony Brook. The Mountain Hawks return four of their five starters next season, all of whom earned postseason recognition in the Patriot League.
