BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's lacrosse seniors Carli Sukonik and Lauren Willcox were both named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team for a second consecutive year, as announced on Wednesday. Enjoying success in the classroom and on the field, both wrap up their storied careers as three-time All-League honorees.

Sukonik owns a strong 3.73 cumulative GPA as a Design major, making the Dean's List on multiple occasions while posting two perfect 4.0 GPA terms. She's been named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll for a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Sukonik has also been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll while earning the Faculty Athletics Council Award as well.

On the field, Sukonik earned All-Patriot League honors as a freshman, sophomore and junior. As a senior, she posted even better numbers, tallying a career-high 42 goals while adding four assists for 46 points. She finished her career with 140 goals, scoring 41, 25 and 32 over her first three seasons. Among the league leaders in scoring, Sukonik finished with nine hat tricks this season. Included was a combined seven goals and two assists in February wins against UC Davis and Niagara, which led to Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Willcox is one of nine Patriot League student-athletes named both All-League and Academic All-League. She owns a stellar 3.74 cumulative GPA as a Biology major, earning Dean's List multiple times for a semester GPA over 3.6. Willcox was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll and was named Lehigh's Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2014. A member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, Willcox has also earned the Faculty Athletics Council Award.

Following a stellar senior campaign, Willcox was named first team All-Patriot League for a second straight season and All-League for a third consecutive year (earning second team honors as a sophomore). She finished the season second on the team with 26 caused turnovers to go with 19 groundballs and 11 draw controls. Beyond any statistics, she has consistently held down the opponents' leading scorers. Willcox posted a career-high five caused turnovers against Fairfield this season which helped her win Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors, recording multiple caused turnovers eight times this season. For her career, the team co-captain finished with 72 groundballs and 63 caused turnovers.

Lehigh has placed at least one student-athlete on the Academic All-Patriot League Team in all five years of the award's existence. Sukonik and Willcox were named to the team last year, Julie McBrien in 2013, Leigh Ann Torcivia in 2012 and Anna Patterson in 2011.

The Mountain Hawks wrapped up a strong season highlighted by a seven-game road winning streak, a road win against Rutgers in front of a nationally-televised audience and the team's second straight postseason appearance. Lehigh's defense was especially strong, allowing single-digit goals in 13 of 17 games as the Mountain Hawks finished the season 9-8 and advanced to their second straight Patriot League Tournament.
