Luchini named NSCAA Scholar All-American

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's soccer senior Jamie Luchini has added another national honor to his post-season accolades as he was named a second team NSCAA Scholar All-American, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced Thursday.
 
The award recognizes the top men's soccer student-athletes in the country who have excelled both on the field and in the classroom. Luchini is the first-ever Mountain Hawk to earn the award and the only Patriot League student-athlete on the list.
 
Luchini holds a strong 3.62 grade point average as a Finance major in Lehigh's College of Business and Economics. The senior earned Academic All-Patriot League honors in each of the last three seasons, making him the first Mountain Hawk to ever do so. He was also recently named a second team CoSIDA Academic All-American.
 
Luchini wrapped up an impressive career in the Brown and White by leading Lehigh to its second-ever league crown and earning Patriot League Tournament MVP honors. He finished his senior season with a league-best 29 points behind ten goals and nine assists and was named second team All-Patriot League and first team All-Region at the conclusion of the regular season. Luchini earned PLT MVP honors after securing eight points behind three goals and two assists in Lehigh's three PLT games and helped lead the Mountain Hawks to their fourth-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Luchini finished his Lehigh career with 53 points thanks to 18 goals and 17 assists and was recently invited to participate in the MLS Player Combine.
