Patriot League Release

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Four members of the Lehigh men's soccer team have garnered All-Patriot League laurels, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon. Junior defender Justin Worley was named first team All-Patriot League. Senior forward Jamie Luchini was tabbed second team All-League, while junior midfielder Danny Gonzalez and freshman forward Mark Forrest earned third team All-League accolades.

A junior co-captain, Worley has been the anchor of a strong Lehigh defense that secured eight shutouts this season and allowed just 1.17 goals per game. The Reading, Pa. native was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 19 after helping Lehigh to a 1-0 win over Loyola. This is the second All-Patriot League honor of Worley's career, as he earned second team recognition last season.

Luchini leads Lehigh and ranks third in the Patriot League with 21 points behind seven goals and seven assists. The senior also sits atop the league leaderboard with four game-winning goals and 81 shots. Luchini wraps up his third-straight season as Lehigh's leader in points and earns second team All-Patriot League laurels for the second time of his career.

Gonzalez, a co-captain, has been a key piece of Lehigh's midfield this season. He started all 18 games, playing 90-plus minutes in all but one league contest. The Berwyn, Pa. native came up big in a 2-2 double-overtime draw at American when he scored an equalizer in the 63rd minute to help Lehigh lock up a home postseason game and the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. This is the first All-League honor of Gonzalez' career.

Forrest is one of just three freshmen to earn All-League honors after he tallied a team-best eight goals this season that finished tied for second most in the Patriot League. The rookie finished the season with 19 points (eight goals, three assists), good for fifth-best in the league. The Douglasville, Pa. native earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week recognition three times throughout his freshman campaign.

Lehigh finished the season 10-5-3 overall and 4-3-2 in league action to earn the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. The Mountain Hawks will host No. 5 Bucknell Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Tickets for Tuesday's contest will cost $5 for adults and $3 for students, children and seniors.

The quarterfinal winners will join Colgate and Boston University in the semifinal round with the host Raiders facing the lower-seeded quarterfinal winner and Boston University squaring off against the higher-seeded quarterfinal winner Friday. Semifinal winners will meet in the championship on Sunday, Nov. 15 for the Patriot League's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
