Tuvesson and Greene earn Patriot League weekly awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's soccer sophomore Doyle Tuvesson has been named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week while freshman Alex Greene earned the league's Rookie of the Week award, as announced by the league Monday afternoon. The two Mountain Hawks played crucial roles in helping Lehigh to a 3-2 overtime win at first-place Boston University and 2-1 victory over James Madison last week.
Tuvesson scored the game-winner just 58 seconds into overtime in Lehigh's 3-2 victory at Boston University Saturday evening. The Kennett Square, Pa. native also tallied an assist at BU and against JMU to finish the 2-0 week with four points. Lehigh handed the first-place Terriers, who were receiving votes in the national rankings, their first league loss of the season. The victory also marked Lehigh's first-ever win over the Terriers. Tuvesson earns the first Offensive Player of the Week award of his career after earning four Rookie of the Week honors as a freshman a season ago.
Greene scored both of Lehigh's goals in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over JMU and also assisted the Mountain Hawks' first goal at Boston University to tally five points in the 2-0 week. Greene scored his first goal against the Dukes in the 43rd minute and then responded with his second goal in the 72nd minute, just a minute after JMU had tied the game. Greene earns the first Patriot League Rookie of the Week award of his career.
Tuvesson, Greene and the Mountain Hawks return to action Wednesday when Lehigh hosts archrival Lafayette at 7 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The Summit Series game tickets will cost $5 for general admission and all Lehigh students, faculty and staff will receive free admission with a Lehigh ID. The Goodman Bus Service offers free transportation for students to and from the game and leaves at 6:45 and 7:15 p.m. from the Dialogue Center on Taylor Street (between Taylor Gym and Grace Hall).
