Ross earns third Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh freshman point guard Kahron Ross was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the third time on Monday after a pair of strong games against Loyola and Army. Ross tallied 24 points, 13 assists and ten rebounds over the two games, knocking down 50 percent of his field goal attempts and turning the ball over just four times.
 
Ross began the week by scoring 13 points and adding eight assists, four rebounds, a block and steal in a big 71-60 road win at Army. He was 5-of-8 from the field and a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line. Ross and the Lehigh defense Army to a season-low 60 points as the Black Knights' previous low was 72 and they were averaging more than 79 points entering the game.
 
The Jonesboro, Arkansas native went on to post 11 points, five assists and a career-high six rebounds against Loyola Saturday. For the season, Ross is averaging 9.3 points (third on the team) and 5.6 assists (second in the Patriot League) per game. Ross is also fourth in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio.
 
Lehigh hits the road next Wednesday (Jan. 14) to face defending Patriot League Champion American at 7:30 p.m. in our nation's capital.
