NSCAA Release

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's soccer freshman Doyle Tuvesson has been named to the All-Northeast Region third team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, the NSCAA announced Wednesday. Tuvesson is one of 12 Patriot League players to land on one of the three 11-man teams. The rookie is one of only three freshmen to earn a spot on the All-Northeast Region teams.

Tuvesson finished the season as the team's second-leading scorer with five goals and four assists, good for 14 points. The Kennett Square, Pa. native was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week four times throughout the season, becoming just the second Patriot League player to have ever earned four Rookie of the Week awards. He finished the season tied for eighth in the league in goals (5) and tenth in points (14).

Tuvesson is the first Lehigh player to land on an NSCAA All-Region team since three Mountain Hawks (Kevin Strunk, Neal Melchionni and Ciaran Nugent) did so in 2011.

Tuvesson helped guide Lehigh to a 10-8-1 overall mark and 5-3-1 Patriot League record as Lehigh secured its first ten-win season since 2006 after being predicted to finish last in the Patriot League. The Mountain Hawks earned the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League Tournament and fell to eventual champion Bucknell. After finishing the 2013 season ranked 187th in the final NCAA men's soccer RPI, Lehigh concluded action this season ranked 78th for an outstanding jump of 109 spaces.
