
Fratoni and Tofig earn All-Patriot League honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh field hockey senior Steph Fratoni and sophomore Gabby Tofig have been named second team All-Patriot League, as announced on Tuesday. Fratoni anchored the Mountain Hawks' defense while Tofig enjoyed a breakout season, scoring eight goals, most on the team and second in the league.

Fratoni wrapped up her stellar career with two All-Patriot League honors, as both a freshman and senior. The Media, Pa. native started all 18 games in 2014, recording one goal, one assist and three defensive saves. She earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week laurels after Lehigh swept its weekend against Holy Cross and Sacred Heart. The Mountain Hawks allowed just three goals over the two games while Fratoni also contributed offensively, posting a goal and assist. Fratoni wrapped up her career with 16 points behind three goals and ten assists. She also finished with ten-career defensive saves.

Tofig led the Mountain Hawks' offense in 2014, tallying 17 points behind eight goals and one assist. After scoring against Monmouth, Tofig tallied a career-high two goals against Towson which helped propel Lehigh to four wins in five games. She scored at least one goal in each of the victories, including two goals against Sacred Heart. Tofig earned Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors after that weekend, which also included a goal in a league-win over Holy Cross. She scored just over one minute into the game at Lafayette and tallied an assist in the season finale against La Salle.

Sofi Laurito of Boston University was named the Patriot League's Offensive Player of the Year while American's Grace Wilson earned Defensive Player of the Year. Angela Virtu of America earned Rookie of the Year while Bucknell's Jeremy Cook was named Coach of the Year.
