Mountain Hawks complete competition at Larry Ellis Invite

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Lehigh track teams wrapped up competition at the Larry Ellis Memorial Invitational at Weaver Stadium on Friday. Katherine Pierce qualified for ECAC Championships in the 5000 meter run, as she earned a time of 17:00.88, beating the 2011 standard by nearly 16 seconds.


In other women's action, Jessica Kendzor  finished in ninth in her section and recorded a team best  in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.14. In other sections, Lauren Pietrosh (2:15.68) and Alexandra Neville (2:19.73) finished behind Kendzor. Katherine Howley  (4:42.79) and Julia Perry (4:42.92) finished right aside one another in the 1500 meter run. Megan Hetzel also ran the 3000 meter steeplechase in 11:22.28.
 
On the men's side, Niall Buckley (1:54.22) finished in fifth place in his section of the 800 meter run.
Kyle O'Connor  (1:55.32) and Kenneth Wilkinson (1:55.60) each finished just behind Buckley. In the 1500 meter run, Stephen Abate clocked in at 3:56.95 and Evan Flach finished at 3:59.54. Lyle O'Brien and Jordan Inacio also had solid showing in the 3000 meter steeplechase. O'Brien finished at 9:42.50 while Inacio had a time of 9:48.10.
 
Lehigh will be back in action next weekend with the Penn Relays and the Lehigh games.
